James J. DeKleva is a judge of the Seminole County Court in Florida handling misdemeanor and traffic cases. He was elected on Nov. 6, 2012 for a term that expires on January 8, 2019 and ran unopposed in the 2012 election. Judge DeKleva was an Assistant State Attorney for three years and, in 1993, opened his own law practice. Judge DeKleva defended and prosecuted criminal law cases prior to becoming a Seminole County judge. Judge DeKleva received his undergraduate degree from Florida State University and his law degree from Sanford University Cumberland School of Law in 1990.
